Music that moves: crafting the emotional core of our film

Music is one of cinema’s most powerful tools. It shapes emotion, drives narrative shifts, and reveals hidden layers of meaning. In our short film, the original score plays a central role – and we’re excited to share a closer look at how it came to life.

Intimate and honest: the Thomas Clarke Theme

At the heart of the score lies the Thomas Clarke Theme – an evocative piece that captures the soul of our story. Composers Jody and John teamed up to create a sound that feels both intimate and intense.

Inspired by modern classical artists like Ólafur Arnalds, Joep Beving, and Nicholas Britell, they built the score around a delicate piano motif. This central piece guides the audience through the film’s emotional journey. It starts with quiet melancholy as Francis reflects on the past, then swells with gravity as deeper truths come to light.

A score that grows with the story

What sets this score apart is its ability to evolve. Jody and John didn’t stop with a single theme. They created alternate versions, reworked arrangements, and new compositions – all carefully tailored to different scenes.

These variations let the music shift with the mood, adding depth and texture to every moment. As the tone changes, the score responds—tying scenes together with emotional continuity.

Music with purpose

Every note serves a purpose. This score isn’t just background – it’s a voice, a presence, a character. It speaks when words can’t. It lifts, grounds, and deepens the film’s most powerful scenes.

We can’t wait for you to hear it in full – paired with striking visuals and raw performances. Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes stories, exclusive sound clips, and interviews with the composers as we get closer to release.
